How to beat the heat in Piura

Here are some ways I stay cool momentarily in 100 degree temperatures on the northern Peruvian coast

1. Go to the bank daily and act like you are doing buisness-WHY? It´s the only AC in the whole city.
2. Take 4-5 rinse-offs daily
3. Sleep and sit next to a fan (also to keep the mosquitos off me)
4. Sneak into the hotel pool and act like a guest
5. Wear damp clothes

5 things I couldn´t live without in Peru

1. Fan- I have to sleep with a fan blowing on my face every night to keep cool and to blow the mosquitoes off me.
2. Swiss army knife- I use the saw tool on the knife weekly. I´ve made a screen door, made a bamboo chair and fixed countless things with my knife.
3. Sun glasses- If I leave my house with out my shades-I´m in trouble. The sun here is intense since we are so close to the equador.
4. Hiking Pack- My pack goes where I go and has become very useful for trips. Here almost every foreigner seem to travel with them. They are easy to spot out since there are so few tourists where I live.
5. My laptop- My laptop has come in handy for watching movies, listening to music, and doing work.
